A Once Gold Sky
She was my sunset
My escape after a long day
The beauty of the stars shining through her
The light of the moon behind her
Every color of a diamond spread across her face
And her eyes took the deep drown color of the hills she sat in front of
Such a bliss it was to spend my evening enjoying her company
Though she had her days of blues and navy reds, I never saw her any differently
I knew those colors we're always Gold on the inside
I stayed and watched as her colors faded
I had polluted her sky
But by the time I figured out what was darkening her colors, she was already gone
And all I had was the solice of the moon and the emptiness of my polluted sky.
