Artwork accompanying the poem Weighed Down

Weighed down this depression runs deep, weighed down, metaphorically, dying, so to speak, weighed down my heart has a strain, the pain is deep. Broken into pieces, never to heal, it always causes me to weep. Weighed down my soul carries it all, the mistakes from adolescence carried to adulthood the decisions of silence when I should have screamed my story to the top of my lungs, the college dropout, the baby out of wedlock, the jobs no career insight, my life turned into a nightmare. I have no purpose, I haven’t seen in sight. Weighed down , my fears turned into regrets, daily reminders here, and there that I wasted my best years not living right. Weighed down it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.weighed down, my mind sometimes it feels like it’s gonna crumble, my mind hopes for seeing my bright, beautiful, baby boy age, with a family of his own, while my brain also hopes for the pain to stop and be no more. You know the kind where you close your eyes, feet begin to hover off the ground going towards the sky far far far into the clouds, as you float to the sky, the weight of this world disappears, you feel as light as you can be, oh to be weighed down no more what a delight it must be. Free from the pain, free from the wrong decisions that have caused this life turmoil , free from the judgment, free from imperfections, free from the prison, I call this body, free from the cage with barbed wire. I call my mind, free from every bad and evil thought, free from the sorrows of this earth, oh, I want to be free, weighed down no longer is where I belong to be.
